Learning to Shoot While Being Fouled

JumpUSA.com Tip: Trying to shoot a basket, but the other team is in your way? Try this basketball drill to practice for the real thing: Two players should be set up two feet away from the basket. The defense stands 3 to 4 inches away from the offense, directly between the offense and the basket. The defense should have their hands outstretched harassing the shooter. One hand, which should move, is in the face of the offense, no closer than five inches, impairing the offenses vision of the basket. The other hand, which is stationary, is outstretched straight up to block the ball. The defense may talk and yell, but not block the shot. The offense squares up to the basket, shoots the ball, gets the rebound and begins the drill again. Repeat the basketball drill eight times. Contesting a rebound with a defender in your face?
